iPhone poised to change computer industry

posted in: Uncategorized - No Comments

Computer World offers an article that sums up the way this tiny little video phone is going to change the industry. COURSE THE MISSING ICON WILL BE VIDEO CHAT and that’s gonna be another world-changing aspect of this little guy (at least that’s my hope!)

Tomorrow’s third-generation PC UI has already been invented. All the research is done. In fact, some elements have been independently developed by dozens of geniuses at multiple research centers, each taking a slightly different approach, but all embracing more than one of the major five elements of tomorrow’s UI. Here are those elements: 1. Multi-touch, 2. Gestures, 3. Physics, 4. 3-D, and 5. Minimization of icons.

The article asks “Does iPhone uses Multi-touch Technology?”

Survey says?!

Yes. The Iphone uses a touch screen that lets you perform two-finger gesture, for instance, you pinch your thumb and forefinger to shrink a photo, or widen them to enlarge it, as pioneered by multi touch screen pioneer Jeff Han.

But does that mean it uses Jeff Han’s brand? See the article for details!

Also Mac Rumors has covered Jeff’s thoughts on the sitch!
